Shad Mayfield’s Season Sky Rockets as He Picks Up Second San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Title

Tie-down roper Shad Mayfield claims his second San Antonio as he continues to set up his season for success.

Shad Mayfield was at the top of his game at Frost Bank Center. After being the No. 1 cowboy to advance from Bracket 6, he picked up his Semifinals win with a 7.7-second run before he bested that in the Finals with a 7.2 to win it all.

“San Antone’s been huge to me, I’ve won a lot of money every time I’ve come here and it’s my set up for roping and I love it. I tell people all the time this is my favorite rodeo and I look forward to coming here every year,” Mayfield said.

Overall, Mayfield made five runs of 8 flat or faster.

This win paid him $24,750 and Mayfield’s 2024 season earnings now come in at $93,369 to be No. 1 in the World with a lead of more than $55,000.

John Douch, the World No. 2, took second in the Finals with a 7.6-second run and Kincade Henry and Blane Cox also got paid with an 8 flat and 8.3 respectively.
