Emily Beisel Achieves Landslide Victory at the Cinch Playoff’s Governor’s Cup

There was no stopping Emily Beisel and her equine partner Liza as the team kept their momentum going throughout the entirety of the Cinch Playoff’s Governor’s Cup to claim the No. 1 position in Rounds 1 and 2 as well as the the Semifinals and the Finals to ultimately take home the Championship and nearly $44,000.

“I knew I had the NFR but I wanted to give this mare a chance to show the world what she could do on a big stage,” Beisel said.

Beisel kicked off Round 1 with a 13.95-second run to split the lead with No. 1 cowgirl Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi to secure her first check in Sioux Falls. Beisel then followed up with a run of 13.69 seconds to claim the top spot in the average and advance into the Semifinals.

The Semifinals were stacked with cowgirls in the Top 15 including Taycie Matthews, Summer Kosel and Jessica Routier, however, the Oklahoma cowgirl proved herself once again as she locked in a 13.84-second run to fasten her position in the Short-Go.

A final run of 13.74 seconds secured Beisel the win as she walked away with a check for a total of $43,750 in Sioux Falls along with the Top Gun Award and a secured spot in the National Finals Rodeo. Beisel moved from No. 7 to No. 3 in the WPRA World Standings.
