Previous San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Barrel Racing Champion, Dona Kay Rule, delivered the fastest run of the rodeo, clocking in at 14.08 seconds to claim the No. 1 spot in Round 2 and secure the top position in the Average standings.
Rule credits much of her success to her beloved horse, Valor.
“He just loves to go, he’s got a lion’s heart and he can’t wait to get in there,” Rule said.
Amidst competition from top athletes, Rule and Valor have found success, signaling a promising future for the duo as they make their way through the final rodeo of the Texas Swing.
As Rule currently holds the 41st position in the WPRA World Standings, another victory at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo could propel her closer to, or even into, the Top 15.
