Creek Young Moves to No. 1 in the World with Victory in Houston

Young secured the RodeoHouston Championship Title with an 87-point ride, propelling him to No. 1 in the PRCA World Standings

Creek Young entered RodeoHouston sitting No. 2 in the PRCA World Standings and walked away in the top spot with an addition $54,000 added to his earnings as he cinched the the win inside NRG Stadium.

Young faced Cervi Championship Rodeo’s Preacher for the second time in Houston, having previously ridden the bull in the Semifinals for a score of 82.5 points. With a bigger and better score in mind, Young’s determination paid off as he secured an 87-point ride in the 4-Man Round, ultimately clinching the coveted RodeoHouston Championship Title.

“I decided I was just going to show up to the big ones and make them count. I’ve got the good Lord riding with me everywhere I go so all glory to Him,” Young said.

Young capitalized on the money available at RodeoHouston, catapulting himself to No. 1 in the World Standings with earnings surpassing $100,000.

Roscoe Jarboe followed behind Young at No. 2, earning a check for $20,000, while T.J. Gray and Tristan Hutchings split third place, each picking up $7,500.
