Cooper Cooke Wins Both Rounds to Runaway With San Angelo Rodeo Bareback Title

The 21-year-old is now No. 1 in the World

Cooper Cooke won the Long Round with 88.5 points and matched that score on Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Night Gazer in the Finals to win San Angelo in dominant fashion.

“It’s awesome (to ride that caliber of horse), she went out there and blew up, gave me a chance to go win,” he said.

Cooke’s total score of 177 points on two was 3.5 points clear of second place Jacob Lees. Four more cowboys cleared 170 points on two in addition to Cooke and Lees, Ethan Mazurenko totaled 172, Will Nortstrom and R.C. Landingham both had 171.5 and in his second ProRodeo in more than 18 months, nine-time NFR qualifier Tilden Hooper had an aggregate score of 170.5.

Cooke entered San Angelo No. 4 in the World and by winning over $17,000 he has ascended to the top of the PRCA World Standings.
