The Carolina Cowboys and the Texas Rattlers made history with an early trade, the first ever, at the PBR Team Series Draft on Monday night.

Carolina owner Richard Childress said the team’s General Manager, NASCAR driver Austin Dillon, has taken the job very seriously and Dillon proved that on Draft Day by dealing the team’s first two draft picks, Cody Jesus and Joao Ricard Vieira, for 2022 World Champion Daylon Swearingen and Mason Taylor.

“I couldn’t ask for a better teammate, he’s one of my best friends,” Taylor said of Swearingen. “This is going to work out great.”

Swearingen, who went No. 3 overall, will have the opportunity to reunite with Jerome Davis. He grew up going to Davis’ bull riding schools and Davis will serve as the team’s Head Coach.

Here’s a snapshot of every draft pick by the Carolina Cowboys.

1. Daylon Swearingen

Swearingen was the star of the PBR this season. He won the World Championship and the World Finals event title en route to making almost $1.4 million on the year. He had six PBR wins total in 2022, including three on the Unleash the Beast tour. He also registered 14 90-point rides.

2. Mason Taylor

The 22-year-old has made at least $100,000 in each of the last four PBR seasons and racked up 45 Top 10s over that timeframe. Taylor has been very consistent since he starting riding on the Unleash the Beast Tour and has finished the each of the last four seasons between No. 11-15 in the final World Standings.

3. Boudreaux Campbell

Campbell burst onto the PBR scene in 2020 by winning the World Finals event title and finishing No. 3 in the final standings. The next year, he proved 2020 was no fluke by winning four times on the Unleash the Beast Tour and finishing No. 6. Campbell has also kept his PRCA card throughout his PBR rise and has made the NFR five straight times.

4. Ramon De Lima

The only Brazilian on the roster, De Lima has finished in the Top 30 four times in the last six seasons, including a career-best No. 8 in 2018. Throughout his PBR career, De Lima has ridden 43 percent of his bulls but has just one 90 point ride.

5. Cannon Cravens

The 22-year-old only had 10 outs on the Unleash the Best Tour, but rode four of those bulls. In the last four seasons, he has nine Unleash the Beast Top 10s.
