WPRA Barrel Racing Standing Update, Feb. 28: Kassie Mowry, Wenda Johnson and Emily Beisel Enter Top 10

Significant changes are unfolding in the realm of barrel racing as a number of the sport’s most iconic cowgirls are securing their positions within the Top 20 rankings following their impressive performances and earnings at events such as the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, the Dixie National (Mississippi), and La Fiesta De Los Vaqueros (Arizona), all of which are PRCA Playoff Series Rodeos.

No. 1 Sarah Winkelman, $34,831

Sarah Winkelman has kicked off her season with success, securing a win at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Since then, she has steadily moved up, currently holding the No. 1 spot in the WPRA World Standings. Winkelman clinched another first-place victory at the Rotary Rodeo in Starkville, Mississippi, clocking in a 13.47-second run. Her success continued with multiple second-place finishes at events like the Dixie National and the Los Fresnos Rodeo (Texas), culminating in a total earnings of $34,831.

No. 4. Kassie Mowry, $30,614

Kassie Mowry has jumped in the WPRA World Standings, catapulting from the 30s to claim the No. 4 spot following her win at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo for the second consecutive year. With an additional $22,500 added to her earnings, Mowry has amassed a total of $30,614 from just four rodeos this season.

6. Emily Beisel, $26,878

Emily Beisel has moved up into the Top 10 of the WPRA World Standings after a winning performance at the Dixie National, where she claimed first place with a run of 13.45 seconds and earned $6,144. She then secured the No. 4 spot at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Finals, winning $10,500. As a five-time National Finals Rodeo cowgirl, Beisel is on track to finish inside the Top 15 once again.

8. Wenda Johnson, $24,520

Wenda Johnson, a three-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier, has secured the No. 8 position in the World Standings after securing a spot on the leader board at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Johnson clinched second-place in the Final Round with a run of 13.75 seconds, trailing behind Kassie Mowry. Her performance inside the Frost Bank Center earned her a substantial check of $17,000, contributing significantly to her total earnings.
