The Texas Swing is nearing its end with the conclusion of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo and the focus is shifting to the Summer Run. Preparations are underway for some of the summer’s biggest rodeos, including a recent qualifier in Salina, Utah, determining which cowgirls will compete at the 2024 Calgary Stampede.
In the breakaway roping, MaryBeth Beam locked in an aggregate time of 3.9 seconds on two head to secure the No. 1 spot in the Average. Makayla Boisjoli trailed close behind as she secured second place with an aggregate time of 4.1 seconds. Boisjoli will join her sister and reigning World Champion Shelby Boisjoli-Meged as the sisters compete side-by-side near their home town of Langdon, Alberta.
Barrel racers Chelsea Moore and Katelyn Scott qualified for the Stampede after finishing in the top two spots with aggregate times of 30.57 seconds and 30.89 seconds on two.
