RodeoHouston’s payout shifted the World Standings in a big way. There is a new No. 1 while others are slowly climbing higher in the Top 15. Some are holding on to their place as we are just two rodeos away from the end of the Texas Swing.
No. 1 Damian Brennan, $106,810
Placing in the Go-Round and Average at the La Fiesta De Los Vaqueros kick started Brennans jump to the top. It was his performance in Houston that finished the job. The $50,000 was his after he put together a 90 and 91-point ride on Championship Saturday.
No. 3 Lefty Holman, $61,721
After battling back to through the Semifinals, Holman went to work. He wound up finishing second in both rounds on Championship Saturday. This includes his $20,000 89-point ride on Calgary Stampede’s Exotic Warrior in the Championship Shootout.
No. 7 Cole Elshere, $40,523
Elshere went into Houston Semifinals with $3,000 to his name. From there, he kept going up with an 81.5 in the Semifinals and then an 86 and 88.5 on Championship Saturday. The 88.5 locked in $10,000 to bump him up in the standings. He also picked up a smaller win at the North Dakota Winter Show with an 85.5-point ride.
No. 12 Sage Newman, $36,111
Newman found his stride at NRG Stadium. He racked up $6,750 while in his Super Series before being 88 in the Semifinals and 88 in the Championship Shootout. He added $7,000 to his season earnings in Houston and added to it with a $2,700 second-place finish at the Southeastern Livestock Show and Rodeo.
