Statler Wright was only down for one week before coming back up and we saw a series of good saddle bronc rides come the month of February

As the Texas Swing rages on, so do the saddle bronc riders. With San Antonio’s conclusion, a big change in the leader of the World Standings came about while the Top 20 shuffled right along with it.

There is a $10,000 lead for the youngest of the Wrights, but he has rank cowboys coming for his spot like Damian Brennan and Lefty Holman.

No. 1 Statler Wright, $55,217

During the second leg of the Texas Swing, Wright found himself advancing to the Finals just like he did in Fort Worth. He added $11,500 to his earnings there. But a huge chunk of change came from his success in Tucson, Arizona at La Fiesta De Los Vaqueros, another PRCA Playoff Rodeo. Third in Round 1 and fourth in the Finals made Wright the No. 1 cowboy on two head. He added another $6,600 to his earnings to pick up his second Playoff win of the season and get him back into the No. 1 spot in the World.

No. 3 Damian Brennan, $44,950

Brennan is staying on this wave of momentum that he has had since his win in Fort Worth. He racked up $5,750 in Bracket 4 before just missing the Short Go with a second-place finish in the Wildcard Round. That did not slow him down, however, as he picked up a $5,800 win at Mississippi’s only Playoff Rodeo, the Dixie National Rodeo, with an 87.5-point ride before sneaking into the money in Tucson as well.

No. 5 Logan Hay, $37,759

Coming into San Antonio, Hay sat on the outside looking in to the Top 20. When he claimed the San Antonio title, he joined the Top 5 in the World. He was the No. 1 cowboy to advance to the Semifinals from Bracket 4 with $6,000 earned. When he went on to the Short Go, he picked Calgary Stampede’s Tokyo Bubbles and the two were 87.5 points to get Hay the $15,000 prize that jumped him to where he is now.

No. 6 Lefty Holman, $36,222

The only bronc rider that earned more in San Antonio than Lefty Holman was Logan Hay. The California cowboy was marked 87 or better four times in San Antone, including in the Finals, where he split second with Mitch Pollock for a $7,500 payday to bring his total there to $18,750.

No. 12 Zeke Thurston, $28,500

The reigning World Champion has only attended two rodeos this 2024 season, Fort Worth and San Antonio, but has made the most of it. He has advanced to the Finals at both and his earnings in San Antonio have landed him inside the Top 20. He won Round 1 and placed in Round 2 and 3 in Bracket 2 before finishing second in the Second Semifinal. All told, it added $9,500 to his season earnings.
