The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo wrapped up its fourth bracket over the weekend while winners were determined at Mississippi’s Playoff Rodeo, the Dixie National.
Additionally, Xtreme Bulls events in San Antonio and Okeechobee, Florida shook up the PRCA World Standings.
- Bull rider Luke Mast made twice as much money at the San Antonio Xtreme Bulls as he had the entire season. The 23-year-old won $20,000 for being the lone cowboy to make the whistle in the Finals. He has a chance to add to his total in San Antonio this coming weekend as well as he advanced to the Semifinals thanks to two round wins in Bracket 1.
- Bareback rider Rocker Steiner advanced first out of Bracket 4 in San Antonio. Steiner got better each round turning in rides of 82.5, 84.5 and 88.5 points, the latter of which got him a Go-Round win on The Calgary Stampede’s Choke Cherry. He won $5,250 and moved from No. 5 to No. 3 in the PRCA World Standings.
- Tie-down roper Riley Webb made three runs of 8 seconds or faster to move to No. 3 in the PRCA World Standings. The reigning World Champion finished second in Rounds 1 and 2 and first in Round 3 to win $6,500 in Bracket 4 in San Antonio. Webb’s debut in San Antonio ended in the Semifinals a year ago.
- Saddle bronc rider Damian Brennan followed up Fort Worth victory with win at the Dixie National. Brennan is No. 2 in the World by less than $100 after his 87.5-point ride on Dakota Rodeo’s Richie’s High won him $5,894 in Jackson. Brennan also placed in all three rounds in Bracket 4 in San Antonio to advance to the Semifinals there.
- Bull rider Taylor Loves won over $13,000 at Bright Field Days Festival. The Stephenville cowboy made the most of his trip to Okeechobee with 87 points on Big Rafter’s Smooth Disaster to split first at the Xtreme Bulls with Jake Lockwood and 86 on Generation Pro Rodeo’s Patron to take second at the rodeo. The X Bulls made up $10,898 of his payday and he is now No. 3 in the World Standings.
