Kalli McCall, Will Eddleman and Dylan Hancock Left Their Mark on Resistol Rookie History

Fresh faces grace the PRCA every year and in 2023, Kalli McCall, Will Eddleman and Dylan Hancock topped the charts.

The Resistol Rookie of the Year is a prestigious title that the greatest cowboys and cowgirls look back on as a high in their career. The newest class of Rookies of the Year includes Kalli McCall, Will Eddleman and Dylan Hancock.

Kalli McCalls barrel racing carrer might not have taken off at rocket speed when she was nine but in 2023, she persevered earn her place in the history books. Between her main mount, Mohawk, and the new horse that stepped up, Dyna, McCall’s rookie year is one she will never forget.

Although Eddleman and Hancock are team roping, their main focus is in different events. Eddleman is your 2023 Steer Roping Rookie of the Year while Hancock took home the Tie-Down and All-Around Rookie of the Year titles.

Eddleman knew he was going to follow in his father’s footsteps and be a steer roper in 2021. Although steer roping started out as the second option, it eventually jumped to his No. 1 event and thanks to his dad and the horsepower he already had, Eddleman has honed in on being the best.

Hancock knew how precious a rookie run was and he decided that the two horses that would be in his trailer in 2023, he had to take that opportunity. For Hancock, it is one day at a time in the arena and when it does not go your way, you go on the next day. While tie-down roping is what you see him in most, he is a true All-Around hand on the timed event side, competing in steer wrestling, team roping and steer roping.

The 2023 Resistol Rookies have left their mark in the Resistol Rookie history books and they have hit the road for the 2024 season.
