Breakaway Roper Jordan Jo Hollabaugh Talks Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo

The new concept with a new format has Jordan Jo Hollabaugh excited to compete at Kid Rock’s event in May

May isn’t too far away and it will bring a brand new event to the world of rodeo - Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo, held during the PBR World Finals.

Breakaway roper Jordan Jo Hollabaugh will be competing in the inaugural event and she’s looking forward to being a member of a rodeo team.

“When I got the call that I was drafted and get to rope that was very exciting, but I think for me, its a new team concept that they’re bringing to rodeo,” she said. “I’m just very excited about the opportunity and also looking forward to what it looks like to be on somebody’s team and cheering for all the other events. I think its a really cool new spin on rodeo.”

The other unique element of the rodeo is that athletes will be competing in a “red light, green light” format. Each timed event athlete will begin their run side-by-side against a member of another team with a stoplight that counts down to when they go, rather than a nod.

“I don’t think we know what to expect and that gives it even a little more hype, I think it’s going to be a fun day to be at the rodeo.”

Hollabaugh will be roping for Misty Mountain Hop, a team coached by barrel racing legend Charmayne James and our very own Justin McKee.

Some of her notable teammates include tie-down roper Caleb Smidt, team roping pairs Kaleb Driggers/Junior Nogueira and Tyler Wade/Wesley Thorp, and steer wrestler Tyler Waguespack. All of whom have won Gold Buckles in the 2020s.
