Women’s Rodeo World Championship Semifinals Recap

The Women’s Rodeo World Championship Semifinals wrapped up at the historic Cowtown Coliseum. The format of this rodeo is Professionals Vs. Challengers, you can earn your spot based on the World Champions Rodeo Alliance leaderboard and their Virtual Rodeo Qualifier system or you can hit a qualifier series event.

The action got started on May 16 and on May 17, they held their Semifinals. Twelve Pros and twelve Challengers ran in Fort Worth, Texas and the top 10 athletes are heading to a Showdown Round.

In the barrel racing, it was Challenger Mallee Jones who laid down the fastest time of the rodeo with a 13.495 on a borrowed horse to secure her spot in the Showdown Round while Hailey Kinsel brought the heat in the Pro division.

The top two ladies in the breakaway were just two hundredths of a second apart. Stephenville’s Martha Angelone was a 2.2 in the Pro Division while Keeley Senn was a 2.22 in the Challengers division. Josie Conner had her spot in the Showdown Round coming into the event but nine other ropers are coming for the young cowgirl.

KENNA FRANCIS & WHITNEY DESALVO 6.09

The ladies of the team roping were hustling. It was no surprise when Kenna Francis and Whitney Desalvo stopped the clock at 6.09 in the Semifinals to move on. Jackie Crawford and Annette Stahl are No. 1 in the average moving on and in the Challengers division is it Rylie Smith and Hope Thompson that won the Semifinals and are sitting No. 1 in the Challengers Average.
