World Champion tie-down roper Shad Mayfield captured 10 rodeo titles and collected over $206,000 to claim the No. 2 position the PRCA World Standings. It is the second-most a tie-down roper has ever earned in the regular season.

Mayfield entered in to the Top 5 just before the start of the summer run as he secured the No. 1 spot at the Santa Rosa Roundup and the Liberty Hill Fair and Rodeo to add $7,335 to his earnings as he jumped from No. 8 to No. 4 in the World Standings. He not only secured a fifth National Finals Rodeo qualification, but he is also looking for his third Top 3 finish since 2020.

BIGGEST PAYDAYS

Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup, $38,750

The Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup was Mayfield’s most lucrative win of the year as he pulled a check for $38,750 in Sioux Falls to round out the regular season. Mayfield advanced out of the Semifinals at No. 2 with a run of 7.3 seconds, following just behind Kincade Henry. Consistency paid off for Mayfield as he turned in another run of 7.3 seconds only this time to secure the top spot in the Short Go. All four of his runs at the rodeo were 7.5 seconds or faster giving him 10 such runs for the season for the third straight year.

San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, $17,500

Although the Texas cowboy was unable to capture a championship while traveling throughout his home state during the winter run, Mayfield secured check for $17,500 at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo after claiming second place in the Final Round with a run of 7.3 seconds. It was the fastest of his four qualified times in San Antone, all of which were 8.7 seconds or better.

Mayfield’s fastest run of the regular season was recorded at the Killdeer Mountain Roundup PRCA Rodeo where he locked in the win with a time of 6.6 seconds to pick up a check for $4,834. Marty Yates, Macon Murphy and Trevor Hale were among the remaining cowboys who also pulled a check in North Dakota.
