Two-time NFR qualifier and current Top 15 bull rider Koby Radley will miss three months after fracturing his left femur at the Bill Hoy Kiwanis Rodeo in Tennessee.
According to Radley, it was a freak injury.
“He bucked me off and my left leg landed behind me, and my right leg went in front of me,” he told ProRodeo.com. “It wasn’t a horrible fall. I guess the way I landed with that leg behind me it broke it in three spots. I had surgery in Clarksville on May 19..."They put three screws in my knee and two in my hip to hold the rods and a rod through my femur.”
Radly, 25, made the NFR in 2018 and 2019 but has been battling injuries on and off since. A left knee surgery kept him out for 10 months in 2020 and he also had issues with his right shoulder throughout 2021 and 2022 before the persistent problems ended his season early in August.
“I just can’t catch a break,” he said. “I guess you just have to trust the process. I was really excited about this season because I was doing well. Hopefully, I can get all these injuries out of my system, and I can move forward in my career.”
Prior to his injury, Radley had been marked 85 points or higher on his last five consecutive qualified rides.
