After a pec injury took Cody Devers out of his first National Finals Rodeo half way through it in 2021, he has cinched his second trip to Vegas with redemption right around the corner.
BIGGEST PAYDAYS
RodeoHouston, $24,500
At one of the largest rodeos of the entire season, Devers only picked up steam. A no time in Round 1 didn’t slow him down, he came back to win two Go-Rounds before making it through to the Finals. There, Devers would be a 4.7 to finish second over all and cash in.
The Calgary Stampede, $20,750
Placing in two Go Rounds and winning a third advanced Devers on to the Semifinals. A 3.8-second run in the Semifinals tied for the win and he went on to the Finals where a broken barrier resulted in a fourth-place finish and a still hefty payday.
FASTEST RUNS
San Angelo Rodeo (Texas), 3.5 Seconds
What would be Devers’ second fastest run of the season came early on during the Texas Swing. A 3.5 in Round 2 was enough for a second-place finish that was over $5,000.
Canby Rodeo (Oregon), 3.5 Seconds
Devers kicked off Canby with a fast run to win the First Go-Round. His 3.5-second run would be worth over $1,500 and it would help him finish the rodeo with a second-place finish in the Average at the Oregon rodeo.
Omaha River City Rodeo (Nebraska), 3.5 Seconds
Towards the end of the season, Devers ended with a quick, rodeo winning 3.5-second run that tied as his second fastest run of the season.
NOTABLE WINS
Sundre Pro Rodeo (Alberta), 4.0 seconds
Canada was good to Devers. A 4.0-second run would prove to be fast enough for the $3,300 win in Sundre by two tenths of a second.
Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo (Texas), 3.8 Seconds
The Oklahoma cowboy found a win in Stephenville by just a tenth of second. The 3.8-second run would be worth almost $2,000 to add to his season earnings.
