Lefty Holman continues to add to his family legacy with each National Finals Rodeo qualification he gets and 2023 makes three.
He comes in the No. 14 man in the saddle bronc riding with $128,955 to his name after shuffling anywhere between No. 8 and No. 14 all summer long.
Last December, Holman finished No. 2 in the World after 10 rounds of action in Las Vegas that paid him a total of $191,410. He finished the year with a career-high $341,390.
BIGGEST PAYDAYS
California Rodeo Salinas, $10,481
In his hom estate of California, Holman cashed in his biggest payday when he won the bucket list rodeo of California Rodeo Salinas. He tied with an 86 for second in Round 1 before an 87 in the Finals made him the No. 1 cowboy on two. Holman won five times in 2023 and three of them came in California.
Battle of the Best, $9,668
His second-highest payday of the year also came The Golden State at the fittingly named Battle of the Best. Holman won his section before finishing third in a four-man Short Round that included Dawson Hay, Layton Green and Kolby Wanchuk.
HIGHEST MARKED RIDES
Battle Born Broncs (Nevada), 90 Points
Holman matched up with Powder River Rodeo’s Miss Valley in Nevada to find his way to the pay window. By 2.5 points, Holman got the almost $8,000 win with a 90-point ride. Between June 10 and June 14, Holman placed at four straight rodeos and won $14,100 overall.
Home on the Range Champions Ride (North Dakota), 88.5 Points
Holman’s 88.5 would be one three that was enough to split the fifth place finish in the Finals in Sentinel Butte. The rodeo was full of high scores as Holman’s two-head total 175.5 points only put him fifth in the Average as well. Kolby Wanchuk was 181.5 points to take first.
Snake River Stampede (Idaho), 88 Points
In the Final Round, Holman drew Cervi Brothers’ NFR bucking horse, Womanizer. His 88-point ride would end up tying for the Go-Round win and land him in the No. 2 spot in the Average. He made $5,300 at the event.

Back When They Bucked (South Dakota), 170.5 Points on Two
At the famous Deadwood rodeo, Holman climbed on Sutton Rodeo’s South Point in the Final Go-Round. The score put on the board would be a round-winning 87-point ride that when combined with his Round 1 score, landed Holman on top of the Average.
