Kassie Mowry has secured her fourth National Finals Rodeo qualification after winning a total of $133,802 competing at only 28 rodeos throughout the entirety of the regular season. It is the first time in her career she has made the NFR in consecutive years.
She sits No. 6 in the WPRA World Standings and is position for her best finish since 2017 when she finished ninth.
BIGGEST PAYDAYS
San Angelo Rodeo, $25,283
The Texas cowgirl claimed the win with an aggregate time of 43.86 seconds on three head during the final leg of the Texas Swing which paid her $9,873. The rest of the money came from her Go-Round earnings as she placed first or second in all three.
San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, $22,500
Mowry advanced out of Bracket 2 at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo with $2,500 earned and had to work her through the Wild Card to eventually win the title. She claimed the No. 1 spot in the Wild Card Round with a 13.96-second run and when she moved on to the Finals, she was one one-hundredth better, stopping the clock at 13.95 to cinch the win. Bayleigh Choate was second while Jackie Ganter and Dona Kay Rule shared third.
FASTEST RUNS
Rodeo Austin, 14.94 Seconds
Mowry’s time of 14.94 seconds in Round 1 of Rodeo Austins secured her a check of more than $4,000 between San Antonio and San Angelo. Mowry’s time was the fourth fastest of the rodeo overall.
Calgary Stampede, 17.02 Seconds
Mowry won Pool A, Round 3 with the fastest time of the entire Calgary Stampede as she advanced second out of the pool. In 2022, she was The Calgary Stampede Champion.
NOTABLE WINS
Fiesta Days Rodeo (Utah), 16.81 Seconds
A 16.81-second run in Spanish Fork sent Mowry straight to the top of the leaderboard at the Fiesta Days Rodeo. Mowry added $12,547 to her total earnings and that same weekend, she also placed at the Ogden Pioneer Days (Utah) and Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo. Those three paydays in The Beehive State combined to be north of $22,000.
West Texas Fair and Rodeo, 17.17 Seconds
Mowry’s final win of the season came at her final rodeo of the season on Sept. 17. Mowry competed at just three rodeos during August and September.
