Bull Rider Jeff Bertus Rides Two to Win Bracket 4 of National Western

Jeff Bertus won Round 1 with 86 points on Cervi Championship Rodeo’s Soccer Mom and followed it up with 85.5 more in Round 2 to advance first in Bracket 4 with 171.5 points on two.

“It was going to be a fight the whole time, but praise God was there when the whistle blew,” he said after his Round 1 ride. “Just had to keep hustling, keep getting to the front and just keep going at him.”

Through nine performances, Bertus is sitting third in Round 1 and fourth in Round 2 at the National Western.

Caden Bunch was the only other Bracket 4 bull rider to go for 2-for-2 as he tallied 165 points. Wyatt Phelps also advanced thanks to a 90-point ride in Round 2, which is the highest of the rodeo so far.
