Bareback Rider Tanner Aus Captures Second Rodeo Austin Title of His Career

Tanner Aus made two 90-point rides to win the fourth leg of the Texas Swing.

Tanner Aus won his first Rodeo Austin title in 2017 and six years later, he has done it again. His matchup for the Final Round was none other than Empty Promises of Andrews Rodeo when he put 90.5 points on the board.

“Oh, it’s unreal. That’s what bareback riders dream about, that’s what we work towards. And when you draw a good horse like I did tonight, man it’s fun,” Aus said.

On a horse that he knew would stack up to be good, Aus capitalized at Rodeo Austin to add over $15,000 to his season earnings to make himself the No. 6 ranked bareback rider in the World.

Fellow veteran Taylor Broussard finished second in Austin with an 87-point ride while young guns Dean Thompson, Waylong Bourgeois and Rocker Steiner rounded out the top five.
